Tunisia
Tunisia is one of the smallest countries in North Africa, it is also one of the most liberal countries. But for a small country it is perhaps one of the richest and most diverse both from a historical and geographical perspective. The weather in Tunisia ranges from the warm Mediterranean beaches, to the cool mountain tops to the hot desert in the south. Tunisia, having had a colorful past, obtained its independence from France in 1956, leaving far reaching economic, political and cultural influences. From the cuisine to the country’s administrative system, Tunisia benefits from modern developments (infrastructure) in transportation, the medical system (or health), schools (education) and industry. Tunisia’s Older history remains evident throughout the country with beautiful sites from Roman and Berber cultures alike. Tunisia also has national parks protected by Unesco, mountain ranges and desert oases and white sandy beaches.

Tunisia is a growing tourist destination with an economy regularly outpacing its neighbors, thanks to a healthy tourism industry that welcomes over 6 million guests every year. From its ancient Souks and medinas to the film sets of Star Wars (the Phantom Menace pod scene was filmed in Midès), the country is the most liberal of the Islamic world, where women rights are the most progressive of North Africa.
