4WD Rally treasure hunt at Takrouna
Takrouna has played an important part in World War II, when New Zealand troops fought and suffered heavy losses to make the Germans leave this strategic position. Even today, bullet impacts are visible on some buildings’ walls.

Standing on the top, one sees in all directions. It is clear that the people that built the village enjoyed the view. A couple of houses, a Mosque, and a zawiyya with a green dome…

When you look in the western direction, you'll see a third part of Takrouna, a larger, almost organic village that takes up the whole space of a protrusion of the rock. Far away, Mount Zaghouan marks the end of what you can see. To the east, an azure line of the Mediterranean sea can be spotted. Few places in Tunisia allow for a better sunset, or sunrise, than Takrouna.

A rally in 4 WD will take participants to this special place where they will discover a hidden treasure and enjoy a typical lunch.
